….made up of all local boys and manatee county natives, (Jody Britt guitar /vocals, Josh Davis bass/ vocals, Danny Fox guitar/vocals, Fred Thompson drums) The Boss Hawg Band burst onto the local music scene in the summer of 2009, bringing to audiences their unique blend of screaming guitars, thunderous drums and down home country, hard rock, southern fried boogie sounds.
Although they do not label themselves as a “southern rock” band, it’s hard to deny their southern roots, “we are just a rock and roll band from the south…when you are born here, your daddy was born here, your granddaddy’s granddaddy was born here, its just in your blood and it comes out in your music, we don’t need any labels or categories for that”.
With musical influences from the Allman Brothers to ZZ Top, from ACDC to ZAC Brown, the “Hawgs” music is busting at the seems with bluesy riffs, soulful melodies, toe tapping beats and enough metallic 100 proof, in your face rock to make you want to shake your tail (ladies), stomp your feet and give a resounding fist in the air “HELL YEAH”!!
